What we do

We are the Patient Participation Group (PPG) for the Shephall Health Centre.

Since April 2015, it has been a contractual requirement of NHS England for all GP practices to have a PPG and to make reasonable efforts for this to be representative of the practice population.

Our group is comprised of Health Centre patients, the Practice Manager and one of the GP’s.  We try to meet on a monthly basis either virtually via zoom / teams etc or, more recently, we have been meeting face to face.

There is no set way that PPG’s are required to work.  PPG’s are frequently described as a “critical friend”.  We aim to provide constructive feedback to the Health Centre and help to ensure that the practice puts the patients, and improving health, at the heart of everything it does.

We also run monthly coffee mornings on the first Wednesday of each month.
